Excerpts of Five Courageous Delegates From Fukushima Prefecture Addressing Bay Area Journalists Regarding Sustainability and Rebuilding Their Community
(EnviroNews California) – In a public meeting held in the the Hospitality Room of the San Francisco Japan Town Branch of Union Bank of California, five brave delegates from Fukushima Japan addressed a panel of citizens and journalists regarding the current situation in Fukushima, Japan.
The delegation includes a renowned journalist, professors from Fukushima University and the Fukushima Medical School, as well as a green tea farmer. Of great concern to the delegation was the situation regarding the hundreds of thousands of atomic refugees presently struggling to maintain a reasonable quality of life in Iwaki and Fukushima City. Sustainability, green energy, and the rebuilding of their devastated community with an eco-friendly and self-sufficient lifestyle was of primary concern to the nobel panel of educational warriors. Their heartfelt message also included issues pertaining to the economy and the future of nuclear energy.
